The Story

Behind The Music

Broken Halos sits in the space between who we are and who we were supposed to be.

It’s about the weight of expectations, the image of perfection, and what happens when that image starts to crack. The idea that something can feel sacred and damaged at the same time.

There’s tension in it—between light and shadow, between holding on and letting go of what you thought something was.

Not everything that shines is untouched.

And not everything broken is lost.

HIDDEN DETAILS

There’s a subtle shift in distance as the song unfolds.

It begins close and intimate—vocals sitting right in front, with just enough space to feel human. As the track progresses, that space starts to open. The echoes stretch, the reverb deepens, and everything slowly moves further away.

By the end, it no longer feels like it’s right in front of you… it feels like it’s surrounding you.

That shift is intentional. It mirrors the feeling of something once clear becoming harder to hold onto—still present, just no longer within reach.

LYRICS

What was golden,
went dim,
love too bright to live within.
Every prayer turned into smoke,
every promise, and every toke.

We’re just broken halos,
trying to shine,
trying to glow.
We fall, we fade, we know —
we’re just broken halos.

[You move behind my eyes,
soft like faith that never dies.
Every scar reflects your name,
holy light, lovely pain.

We’re just broken halos,(trying to shine),
trying to glow.
We fall, we fade, we fade, we fade, we know, we know —
we’re just broken halos.

Maybe heaven bends for us,
maybe grace still looks like dust.
If we rise, let it be slow,
we’re still broken,
we still glow.

We’re just broken halos,
but you still make me glow.
Mmm… halos.
